This is the from the VLT (Very Large Telescope) in Cerro Paranal in the Atacama Desert of northern Chile. This 360 degree full color image gives stunning image of the Southern night sky. The VLT consists for four 8.2 meter telescopes operated by the European Southern Observatory! Some of these telescopes can be seen in the image around the horizon of the disc.
